Environmental Lobby Day at the Arizona Capital 2020

February 5th is ‘Environmental Day’ at the AZ State Capitol

 

(PHOENIX, AZ) More than 300 people from throughout Arizona will be at the Arizona State Capitol to meet with their legislators about key environmental issues, including climate change, water, and funding for parks. This year’s theme is “Our planet, our state, our home.”

 

Participants will include members from more than 30 organizations and at least six Arizona high schools, with each attending scheduled meetings with their local Representatives and Senators in the Arizona Legislature. Youth leaders and state legislators, including Representative Kirsten Engel,  will hold a news conference at 11:15 A.M. to speak about some of the priority bills and issues for the session, including sustainability, climate, and protecting watersheds.

WHEN: Wednesday, Feb. 5, 8:30 A.M. to 2 P.M. NOTE: News conference at 11:15 A.M.

WHERE: AZ State Capitol, Rose Garden for opening, news conference, and information tables

 

Wild at Heart will be there with some of the rescued birds and to teach people more about raptors and how to help them.
